Pain Relief with Laser Therapy
If your pet is experiencing arthritis discomfort or any other type of pain, Miller Place Animal Hospital can help. As an AAHA-accredited practice, we use the most modern tools and technology to care for our patients, including FDA-approved Companion Laser Therapy. Laser therapy is a surgery-free, drug-free, and minimally-invasive pain management option for pets that has been clinically proven to be effective in patients for decades.
How Does Laser Therapy Work?
Laser therapy is a form of treatment that uses an intense beam of light to stimulate body cells to heal themselves by safely penetrating the tissue to destroy damaged tissue and, ultimately, provide pain relief. This laser light is delivered with a hand piece and typically leaves pets feeling comfortable and relaxed. The end result is healthier cells, healthier tissue, and a healthier pet with improved function and mobility. The whole treatment session is safe, fast, and painless. However, depending on the extent of your pet’s condition, multiple treatment sessions may be necessary.
What Can Laser Therapy Treat?
One of the most common conditions that our Companion Laser Therapy unit can treat is arthritis and pain relief, but it can also be used to treat the following conditions:
- Sprains, strains, and fractures
- Pain relief
- Degenerative joint disease
- Post-surgical healing
- Lick granulomas
- Geriatric care
- Hip dysplasia
- Neurological conditions
- Trauma or injury rehabilitation
- And more!
